Privacy Policy

Introduction
Digital Home Vault (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use Digital Home Vault, how we use it, how we keep it secure, and the rights you have over your data.
By using Digital Home Vault, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Information We Collect
We collect only the information needed to provide the service:
- Email address — used to create your account and authenticate you.
- Authentication information — such as login sessions and verification records used to keep your account secure.
- Property information — details you enter about your properties, rooms, and home contents.
- Uploaded documents — PDFs, images, and other files you choose to upload to your document vault.
- Warranty information — expiry dates and related details you add to your items.
- Home History information — dates and records that make up the timeline of activity in your property.
We do not collect personal information automatically beyond what is necessary for authentication and account security.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information only to:
- Provide and maintain your Digital Home Vault account.
- Authenticate you securely when you sign in.
- Display and organise the property, room, and item data you enter.
- Store and serve the documents you upload.
- Help you track warranties and home history.
- Respond to your enquiries or support requests.
- Comply with any legal obligations.
Your information is never sold. We never share your personal information with third parties except where required by law or to protect our rights and users.
Document Storage
Uploaded documents are stored securely in private storage buckets. They are only accessible to your signed-in account. When you view a document, we generate a short-lived signed URL that expires quickly, limiting exposure of the file.
Documents are treated as your property. We do not access, scan, or use your uploaded documents for any purpose other than providing the service to you.
Data Security
We protect your data using measures appropriate to the service, including:
- Secure authentication via email verification.
- Encrypted connections between your browser and our servers.
- Row-level access controls so your data is only visible to you.
- Private storage buckets with signed, time-limited access URLs.
No service can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details confidential and for using a secure email account.
Your Rights
You have control over your data. You can add, edit, and delete your properties, rooms, items, documents, and account details at any time through the app.
You also have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. If you wish to exercise these rights, please contact us using the details below.
Data Retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete an item, room, document, or property, that data is removed from your account.
You may permanently delete your account and all associated data, including database records and uploaded files, from within Account Settings in the app. Once deleted, this information cannot be recovered.
